Types of Offers: Everything you need to know

There are 2 main types of offers in the Lovvett App:

Specific offers

  • If you know precisely what you are making available for pick-up, for example, a Chicken Soup, describe it as well as you can, or as you describe it in your menu.
  • If you mark the food as vegan but want to provide further detail about your production process, feel free to do so.

Lovvett Bag offers

  • Lovvett Bags are perfect when you don't know how much or what kind of surplus you have. Identifying your surplus can be tough, especially if you run a buffet, bakery or takeout restaurant. Mark the offer as a Lovvett Bag and offer useful hints in the description as to what the users are likely to find in terms of the type of food, but being transparent about the fact it may vary. Lovvett users understand this.
    • If you really have no clue what you could offer, you can describe the offer along the following lines :

"Take home a taste of France! Rescue goodies like gourmet baguettes, filled croissants, mouth watering patisserie and sweet tarts. You will Lovvett!"

  • If you have a better idea or the type of items in your store you could make available, you can narrow the description a bit, like in the following one: “Get 1 of our famous Egg Rolls (Pork or Veggie)!! + description of the roll”.
  • If you know it could be one of several options, depending on what you have leftover, say it so, like in this example :
    Choose one of the following:

    • 2 Pastries : Cupcakes, Brownies, Donuts and More
    • 1 Bagel with Cream Cheese + 1 Pastry

All items are vegan and free of peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, eggs, dairy, sesame.

Or … “Choice of 7 Delicious Hand-Crafted Bagels + Cream. Our Bagels´ Flavors may include : cinnamon raisin, plain, sesame, herbs, seeded whole wheat, and cheddar.

You probably got the idea by now  :)

  • We include the following disclaimer with all Lovvett Bag offers, which helps educate customers on the availability and variation of surplus food, but feel free to elaborate on this point if you feel it is needed to properly manage expectations: “This Lovvett Bag contains delicious unsold food, leftover from the end of a shift. Businesses make their best effort to describe the type of food it might contain but can't predict the contents exactly. See what goodies you'll find in your Lovvett Bag!”

  • You can easily make your Lovvett Bag available every day by allowing for auto-upload (recurring offer or template) and adjusting the quantity as needed. This way, you can concentrate on your business and brand-new customers!
